Features & Benefits of Meta aramid blend yarn

  • Outstanding Heat Resistance: Meta-aramid fibers resist melting even after prolonged heat exposure. They retain 75% of their original strength after exposure to dry heat at 200°C for 1000 hours and 60% after exposure to wet heat at 120°C for 1000 hours.
  • Flame Resistance: With a Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) over 28%, meta-aramid fibers are flame retardant and will not burn, melt, or drip. They start to carbonize and decompose above 370°C.
  • Heat Insulating Properties: Meta-aramid fibers have excellent heat insulating properties and high dielectric strength, making them suitable for Class-H (up to 180°C) insulating paper used in transformers, dynamos, motors, and other high-temperature and high-voltage electrical equipment.
  • Chemical Resistance: Meta-aramid fibers are resistant to most inorganic acids and alkalis.
  • Good Textile Properties: Their low stiffness and high elongation give meta-aramid fibers excellent textile properties, allowing them to be processed on all types of conventional textile equipment. The staple version can be processed into yarns or blended with other fibers for knitted, woven, and non-woven fabrics. Filament yarn can be converted into knitted and woven fabrics.
  • Radiation Resistance: Meta-aramid fibers show good resistance to α, β, and ultraviolet radiation. For example, they retain their strength even after exposure to 1000 Mrad of β radiation accumulation.
